They're designed to streamline unit movement without interfering with the tactical aspects of the game, allowing for quick and organized maneuvers while maintaining the integrity of unit formations. Whether you're engaged in casual skirmishes or intense tournament play, these trays can significantly enhance your gaming experience by reducing handling time and minimizing accidental model displacement.

You can find movement trays compatible with Grey Knights armies on various online platforms, including the MiniWarGaming Forge website, as well as other hobby-focused websites and local game stores. These trays are designed to fit the specific base sizes used by Grey Knights models, typically 32mm and 40mm, making it easier to move multiple units at once during gameplay. Whether you prefer plastic, MDF, or resin trays, there are options available to suit your army's needs and your personal preferences.

Grey Knights movement trays are primarily designed for use with 28-32mm scale miniatures in sci-fi and fantasy tabletop wargames. While they're specifically tailored for Grey Knights armies, these trays can be versatile enough to accommodate similarly-sized models from various futuristic or medieval-themed skirmish games. Their compatibility extends to any game system that uses round bases of appropriate diameters, making them suitable for a wide range of tabletop battle scenarios.

Grey Knights movement trays are commonly crafted from durable and lightweight materials to ensure ease of use during gameplay. The most popular options include 3D printed PLA, which offers customization and affordability, and injection-molded plastic, known for its strength and precision. Both materials provide excellent stability for miniatures while allowing for easy transportation and storage of your Grey Knights army.

When assessing the quality of Grey Knights movement trays before purchasing, look for smooth, well-defined surfaces and precise dimensions that match your miniatures' bases. Check for any visible layer lines or imperfections in the 3D printed PLA material, as these can affect both aesthetics and functionality. Additionally, consider the tray's design, ensuring it provides secure placement for your models while allowing easy removal during gameplay.

While movement trays for Grey Knights can streamline gameplay, their tournament legality varies. Unofficial tournaments are generally more lenient towards 3D printed products, including movement trays. However, official tournaments may have stricter regulations. It's crucial to consult with specific tournament organizers before using movement trays, as rules differ between events. Some may allow them, while others might have restrictions or prohibit their use entirely. When permitted, ensure your trays don't obscure model details or alter base sizes. Always prioritize clear communication with event organizers to avoid any rule violations or misunderstandings regarding movement tray usage in Warhammer 40K tournaments, especially for official events.

Absolutely! Grey Knights movement trays are fully compatible with official Warhammer 40K products, including the Grey Knights miniatures and other Space Marine units. While they're not officially produced by the game's manufacturer, they're crafted to meet the same specifications, making them a perfect addition to enhance your gameplay and display options.

To paint movement trays for Grey Knights miniatures, start by priming the tray with a metallic silver or grey base coat to match the iconic armor of the chapter. Then, add depth and character by dry-brushing lighter silver highlights on raised edges and applying a dark wash in recesses for a battle-worn look. Finally, consider adding small details like chapter symbols or purity seals to truly personalize your trays and make them fit seamlessly with your Grey Knights army.
